Unconventional Gas - Energy saviour or environmental problem?

Held on Wednesday 21 August 2013 and presented by the UQ Energy Initiative, in conjunction with Grattan Institute and Melbourne Energy Institute, this seminar explored questions such as how important unconventional gas (CSG and shale gas) might be to Australia’s economy and domestic energy sector, the implications for our energy market, the environmental risks and they can be managed.

Presentations by Mr Tony Wood (Energy Program Director, Grattan Institute), Dr Vaughan Beck (Deputy Chair, ACOLA Working Group on Engineering Energy), Ms Deb Kerr (Manager, Natural Resource Management, National Farmers' Federation) are now available. Professor Mike Sandiford (Director, Melbourne Energy Institute) provided commentary during the panel discussion.
