The UQ Student Energy Network (UQ SEN) warmly invites you to 'SENergy', our student led forum which aims to discuss the trade-offs between Human Development Index (HDI) and Carbon emissions, through a controlled and relaxed platform. HDI is an average measurement of 3 key aspects of human development: knowledge, life expectancy and quality of life.

SENergy brings together students from a diverse range of societies to present their thoughts on this global issue. The event is an inter-disciplinary, inter-faculty student-led discussion featuring a panel of eight student leaders addressing the issue from their society’s perspectives and biases.

This year, UQ SEN have gathered a more diverse number of groups to discuss topics revolving around Energy Poverty. There are 8 amazing societies which will be participating this year, including:

  1. Fossil Free UQ (FFUQ);
  2. Society of Petroleum Engineers UQ Chapter (SPE UQ);
  3. UQ Politics, Philosophy and Economics Society (PPE);
  4. Effective Altruism UQ (EA);
  5. Engineers Without Borders UQ Chapter (EWB UQ);
  6. Doctors for the Environment Australia Students (DEA);
  7. QUT Energy, Renewables, Environment and Sustainability (QUT ERES); and
  8. UQ South Pacific Islanders Association (SPIA).

Each participating group will bring their own questions and perspectives to discuss potential ideas and solutions that we could take action on in order to tackle the world's wicked problems.

The event runs from 6.30-9.00pm and will be hosted in the Advanced Engineering Building, GHD Auditorium (49-200).
