Researcher biography

Matthew is a business management professional and a passionate researcher with a unique set of skills combining energy sector policy with contemporary business strategy, carbon management and project finance. Matt’s industry experience spans across both the private and public sectors, most recently holding key positions developing energy policy for the Queensland Government with a focus on demand-side management and energy conservation in rural and indigenous communities.

Commencing his PhD with the UQ Energy & Poverty Research Group in February 2014, Matt’s research interests lie in improving the effectiveness of energy-led development by identifying the drivers of transformational change amongst the energy impoverished.
