Researcher biography

Dr Grant Ballantyne is a research fellow in the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC).  Energy efficient comminution has become my major research theme, and as such I am focussed on industry applications supported by fundamental theoretical understanding.  I have been involved in successful site-based industry research over the past eight years covering four continents and eight commodities. I am passionate about equipping the next generation of metallurgists with the intellectual tools they will need, through undergraduate lecturing, postgraduate supervision and professional development courses.  I completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgy and Chemical) at UQ in 2007 and a Doctorate in Philosophy at the JKMRC in 2012.
